Yaya

Numerous electronic music talents have started their career as a drummer – including Yaya. However, his story is a little different than the others. His rhythm and his affinity for music already began in earliest childhood. His father was a singer and percussionist with the band M'Bamina, who even played for James Brown in Paris in 1985. Influenced by his father, Yaya grew up with the djembe and a drumkit and started as a DJ at the age of 16, playing Funk, Soul, Afrobeat, House & Garage. His unique 4/4 beats in combination with Benin influences and tech-house including Commodore64 high-score melodies have led to wild club nights at Amnesia, Lime Night or Space. That atmosphere of Ibiza is also reflected in his sound – crazy, boisterous and emotional.
